Invest in Rwanda: The Green Investment Opportunity

Client: British High Commission Kigali and Rwanda Development Board

Challenge: Rwanda sought to strengthen its positioning as a leading green investment destination and attract UK-based investors into priority sectors including renewable energy and sustainable agriculture. The objective was to convert strategic interest into tangible investor engagement and capital deployment.

Our approach: Invest Africa Consult designed and delivered a targeted investor engagement strategy focused on the green economy.

This included:

  • Identifying and engaging UK-based investors seeking opportunities in East Africa

  • Engaging Rwanda-based renewable energy companies seeking growth capital

  • Convening donor organisations, DFIs and impact investors aligned with Rwanda’s development priorities

  • Curating and hosting a private investment pitch session in partnership with the British High Commission in Kigali and the Rwanda Development Board

We complemented the convening strategy with a research-led report analysing opportunities to strengthen UK–Rwanda trade and investment in the coffee, tea and horticulture value chains.

Impact:

  • Convened 54 investors and public and private sector stakeholders for a private investment pitch session

  • Delivered a research-based report to support future UK–Rwanda trade and investment engagement

  • Strengthened Rwanda’s positioning as a green investment hub within the UK market
