Mobilising Nigeria's Energy Advantage: Powering Growth

Nigeria possesses one of Africa's most significant energy endowments. Home to more than 200 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves and vast renewable energy potential, the country has a unique opportunity to leverage its resources to drive industrialisation, economic diversification and long-term growth. As demand for energy continues to rise alongside a rapidly growing population, the need for investment across the energy value chain has never been greater.

Recent reforms have sought to improve market efficiency and attract greater private sector participation, creating new opportunities across power generation, transmission, distribution, gas infrastructure and renewable energy development. However, significant challenges remain, including energy access gaps, infrastructure constraints and the need for long-term financing solutions capable of supporting large-scale projects.

This panel session will examine how Nigeria can mobilise investment to unlock the full potential of its energy sector and power its next phase of economic growth. Bringing together government representatives, investors, developers and industry leaders, the discussion will explore the policies, partnerships and capital required to strengthen energy security, expand access, improve reliability and position Nigeria as a leading energy destination on the continent.
