Oxford Economics: The Impact of the Coronavirus on the MENA economic outlook and its key markets

The webinar will “kick off” by examining how hard Coronavirus has hit economies across the world in 2020. To do this Scott Livermore will draw on the extensive research that Oxford Economics has done on how such impacts can be measured using innovative data sources such as mobility. Scott will then bring the data alive by examining themes such as how the stringency of lockdown has impacted economic performance.

The webinar will then move on to discuss how the recovery from the pandemic will look including for the areas of key interest to operators in MENA’s key markets and whether Coronavirus will have longer lasting effects. This section of the webinar will include an assessment of the range of scenarios that the latest research from Oxford Economics shows may characterise the world economy’s recovery from Coronavirus and what that tells us about economic risks over the next couple of years for the countries and sectors that matter most in the MENA region.
