Invest Africa is pleased to announce that we will once again be hosting the UK Government Trade Envoys to Southern Africa, focussing on South Africa, Mozambique, Angola and Zambia. This is an exclusive opportunity for members to hear an update from the Trade Envoys on trade and investment support in-country as well as an opportunity to interact directly with the Trade Envoys on issues affecting your business.

Matt Cavanagh joined Prudential in March 2013 and took up his current position in October 2013.  Prior to joining Prudential, he was Head of Public Affairs at the John Lewis Partnership. From 2003-2010 he worked in a series of positions in the UK Government, as a special adviser to the Home Secretary, the Defence Secretary, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and from 2007-2010 as a special adviser to the Prime Minister.

Katherine was elected as the Member of Parliament for South Ribble in Lancashire following the 2019 General Election. Before becoming an MP, Katherine was an SME business owner, manufacturing & exporting wooden products. Previously she worked in Management & IT Consultancy, business banking operations, the Credit Union Movement and assisted the early setup of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership.

Andrew qualified as a chartered insurer and worked as a reinsurance underwriter before being elected to Parliament. His firm helped many of the world’s poorest communities recover from natural disasters. Andrew is Patron of SIFT a development charity working with people in extreme poverty in Nicaragua.
