Dr. Katie Geary, Senior Medical Consultant, Government Services, International SOS

Dr. Katie Geary, is the Senior Medical Consultant for the Government Services Division for International SOS, leading on the quality in Global Health Projects.  

She has worked for Public Health England leading on Travel Health, Migrant Health and International Health Regulations and within the NHS leading on the NHS Transformation project for community and primary care. She is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine with extensive communicable diseases and travel health experience. 

She was the lead clinician for International SOS ebola response and regular teaches and advises on travel related diseases (polio, cholera, Madagascar Plague outbreak). She has worked as a specialist adviser for projects with ECDC. She served in the Royal Air Force her final tour was as the Public Health Consultant for the Surgeon General Defence Medical Services. She was the medical advisor to Tactical Medical Wing for the deployable Air Transportable Isolator used in repatriation of VHF missions.

Dr. Geary has membership with distinction from the Royal College of General Practitioners and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health.  She holds qualifications in medical toxicology and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine. She holds the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine. She is currently undertaking research on the impact of culture on healthcare.
