Minister of Communication and Information Technology. Previously, served as the Advisor to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania; Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism; Minister of State - Local Government and further held various portfolios including Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (in charge of Investments) , Minister of Minerals, Minister of State in the President’s Office incharge of Public Service Management). Previously, she served as Deputy Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional, Legal Affairs and Public Administration, and worked in the attorney-general’s office as Parliamentary Draftsman. Ms Kairuki is an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a Member of Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators.
Prior to joining politics,she was employed by the Vodacom Group as Head of Department of Ethics, Compliance and Governance. She took part in the inaugural Leadership for Change in Africa programme by the African Leadership Institute, and was mentioned in Forbes magazine’s 2013 class of 20 Young Power Women in Africa. She received an LLB from the University of Hull and PgDL in Legal Practice from Staffordshire University.
