Mohammed Rashid Ismail is Senior Vice President, Business Development at DP World Africa and a seasoned infrastructure investment professional with over 25 years of international experience across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. He specializes in development finance, trade facilitation, and large-scale infrastructure, with a strong track record of leading complex investments at the intersection of public and private capital.
In his current role, Mohammed leads the origination, structuring, and execution of major port and logistics projects, supporting regional trade connectivity and long-term economic development. He has played a key role in securing strategic concessions and developing large-scale infrastructure platforms, including the Africa Logistics Properties (ALP) platform established in partnership with British International Investment. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he also serves as a board director on this pan-African investment platform and key port assets, contributing to governance, capital allocation, and sustainable value creation.
Earlier in his career, Mohammed held senior roles at McKinsey & Company, GE, and the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, advising governments, multinationals, and financial institutions on strategy, investment, and market development.
He holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in Development Economics from the University of Bristol, and a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and is recognised for his strong judgment, governance focus, and commitment to sustainable growth.
