Muriel Dube, Non-Executive Director, Sasol

Muriel has considerable experience of international business, developing markets and government.

In addition to her broad background in business she has a particular expertise in sustainability. She chairs SASOL’s Safety, Social and Ethics Committee, has worked with BHP Billiton, Bidvest and was Chief Negotiator on Climate Change for the South African Government at the United Nations.

Throughout her career Muriel has been a champion for diversity in the workplace. She started her career working at Anglo American where she was part of a drive to change the company as it sought to embrace black economic empowerment in South Africa.

Muriel’s background in finance also includes being a banker at London based Investec Plc. where she was among others responsible for the banks renewable energy investments in Mexico and expanded this investment internationally. Muriel is a former CEO of Nozala Investments.

Muriel serves on the boards of Control Risks, PG Group and Bravo Brands. Muriel gained a MSc degree in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford.
