Naa-Aku Jäätma

Senior Economist for Africa | SMBC Group

Naa-Aku Jäätma is an economist recognised for her work and influence in African economics and banking.  She is the Senior Economist for Africa at SMBC Group. A role she has held since 2016 in which she advises the Bank and its clients on country risk with respect to a range of investment and transaction structures.

Naa-Aku joined SMBC in 2009 initially with the Corporate Research Department and subsequently with the Middle East, Turkey and Africa Department.

Naa-Aku holds an MBA from Oxford University Saïd Business School and a BA in Economics and French from Swarthmore College.
