Chief Operating Officer | Lobito Atlantic Railway

Nicolas is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Lobito Atlantic Railway (LAR), the concessionaire of the Lobito Rail Corridor and the Lobito Mineral Terminal, since November 2023, and, has been involved in the mobilization of the project since 2021. Nicolas has more than 20 years of experience in logistics and railways, mainly on the African continent, having been involved in various projects in Angola, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Madagascar, Tanzania and Cameroon. Before joining the LAR project, Nicolas was, from 2015 to 2020, the Deputy General Manager of the Gabonese Railways, SETRAG, transporting more than 8 million tons per year, mainly of manganese ore, but also general freight and passengers. IFC and Proparco supported the Project Investment Program (PRN). Between 2011 and 2018, Nicolas was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SNCC, the national railway of the DRC, within the framework of a technical assistance that was part of a World Bank financing program, the PTM. Before 2011, Nicolas has been working in various financial and logistics manager positions in Madagascar, Cameroon and in Belgium. Nicolas is also one of the directors of Vecturis, a Belgian company specialized in railway operations, one of the 3 shareholders of LAR.
