Partnering for Progress: Investing in Tanzania's Minerals Value Chain

  • Cape Town The Watershed, Workshop 17, 17 Dock Road Cape Town, WC, 8002 South Africa (map)

The global transition to clean energy and the accelerating demand for advanced technologies have placed critical minerals at the centre of international investment strategies. Minerals such as lithium, graphite, cobalt, rare earths, and nickel are indispensable inputs for electric vehicles, renewable energy storage, and digital infrastructure.

Tanzania is uniquely positioned to play a pivotal role in this supply chain. The country is endowed with significant reserves of graphite, nickel, lithium, and rare earth elements, alongside a stable and reform-oriented government that is actively seeking to attract responsible investment into its mining sector. The Tanzanian Government has prioritised mining as a driver of industrialisation and economic diversification, with clear incentives for investors to participate in developing value chains that extend from exploration to beneficiation.

Taking place on the margins of Invest Africa’s Mining Series 2026, this event will highlight bankable opportunities across Tanzania’s critical minerals value chain, from exploration through to processing, while outlining the regulatory frameworks supporting responsible investment. It will also bring together Tanzanian stakeholders and international financiers to catalyse partnerships and position Tanzania as a key player in global energy transition supply chains.
