Head of Business Banking | NBM Bank

Over 15 years’ experience in both Commercial Banks and Central Bank, mainly focusing on driving MSMEs, Risk Management, Credit and Funding risk.

In the current role as Head: Business Banking, I have the privilege to lead a team of over 70 staff to drive the financial inclusion agenda within MSMEs space.

In the last four years, I have led a team to grow Assets by over USD  200 million, Deposits by over USD 300 million, Income by over USD 50 million, and over 150,000 new bank accounts.

Further to this, the role provides an opportunity to incubate and grow MSMES’s through creating seamless process and products to access funds which embraces community development.

Innovations and performances in SMEs, positioned NMB Bank as the best SMEs bank in Tanzania collecting awards from SME Finance Forum under IFC in 2023, and Global Finance Magazine in 2024 and 2026. 

My career aspirations are geared towards growing financial inclusion through attractive banking services which are driven by digital platforms to uphold our sustainability agenda.

Prior to joining NMB, I had a privilege to work with NBC Bank (then a subsidiary of Barclays Africa), focusing on credit and funding risk.

At the Central Bank I focused on driving growth of fixed income, FX Trading, and portfolio management for US dollar Market) also served as Senior Bank Examiner (supervising commercial banks regarding regulatory matters).

I hold various professional certificates including a CPA, Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance, and Masters Degree – Finance.

Facilitating MSME Mining at NMB Bank.

I championed the introduction of financing of mining projects within MSME space in 2020, supporting through transaction services, and loans. Value chain financing, asset financing and capital for developing mining sites, along the legal framework of Tanzania where Primary Mining License is issued to Tanzanians only with a maximum capital of USD10 million.
