He also led CRDB to become the first commercial bank in East and Central Africa accredited as a Direct Access Entity to the United Nations Green Climate Fund, securing US$100 million for climate -resilient agriculture before pioneering Tanzania's first green bond, valued at US$300 million.

Beyond CRDB, Dr. Nsekela has become one of Tanzania's most influential voices in financial services, private sector development and national economic policy. His leadership has earned him appointments to some of the country's most significant public and private institutions, where he continues to shape governance, financial inclusion and economic development. He currently chairs the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission, the Arts and Culture Fund and the Tanzania Tea Board, while serving on the Tanzania National Business Council Finance Working Group, the Tanzania Financial Inclusion National Council and the Economic and Social Research Foundation. His previous leadership include chairing the Tanzania Smallholders Tea Development Agency and the Tanzania Bankers Association from 2018 to 2022 alongside board appointments to the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation and the Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Company.

Dr. Nsekela holds a Doctorate in Management Studies specialising in Finance, Risk Management and Banking from the University of South Africa, a Master of Business Administration in International Banking and Finance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and an Advanced Diploma in Banking from the Institute of Finance Management in Tanzania. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School's Authentic Leadership Programme , reflecting his enduring commitment to principled leadership and lifelong learning.
